Dr. Alper Yilmaz is a Professor with appointments in the Civil Environmental and Geodetic Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering Departments at The Ohio State University. His groundbreaking research in Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, and Geological & Geomatics Engineering have led to international acclaim. In fact, in a recent study from Stanford and Elsevier (published on October 19, 2021), Dr. Yilmaz is listed among the top 2% most cited researchers in these fields of study both in career-long (1960-2021) and single year (2021) categories.
At Ubihere, we’re all big fans of Dr. Yilmaz! It was his innovative research and entrepreneurial vision that led him to found Ubihere in 2018, where he has served as board member and CTO since the company’s inception.

Research conducted in Dr. Yilmaz’s lab focuses on topics such as (1) Deep Learning for Multidimensional Multi-Physics Data; (2) Navigation and Positioning; (3) Scene Understanding from Image Sequences; and (4) 3D Recovery Using Sensor Integration.
