Ubitrax System Deployed at Two U.S. Air Force Bases

Ubihere has successfully transitioned its Ubitrax technology to the US Air Force via a Phase III SBIR contract. Ubitrax is a suite of multi-sensor tracking tags, anchors, and user interface software that is based on Ubihere’s patented artificial intelligence software. Ubitrax is highly customizable, and scalable, to meet a variety of both indoor and outdoor tracking, movement, operational status, and environmental monitoring needs for customers.

Ubihere was previously selected by the Air Force Global Strike Command to adopt the Ubitrax solution to support enhanced Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) operations across the service. The company successfully completed that project with the support of the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas. For Dyess, their expressed need was to track “all Aerospace Ground Equipment dispatches and/or movements in order to accurately recall which assets came in contact with each aircraft in case of a maintenance issue.” Ubihere’s team solved this challenge by successfully adapting and installing 875 tags, which are currently tracking all the base’s aerospace ground equipment as it interacts with the bombers, providing Air Force command with real-time updates in a secure manner. The Dyess project was completed in October 2021, but the project resulted in a field ready solution that can be deployed across many other applications in the Air Force.

Following completion of the Dyess project, Global Strike Command executed a Phase III Purchase order of the Ubitrax solution for Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. At Ellsworth, Ubihere was contracted to deliver and install an additional 684 tags and supporting systems to enable more efficient operation of the base’s aerospace ground equipment.  The project was successfully completed in July of 2022.  At this writing, Minot AFB, Barksdale AFB, and Tinker ALC have all expressed interest in the Ubitrax commercial solution and are evaluating it for purchase and installation to meet their AGE operational needs.

From tracking airmen on the battlefield to equipment in the hangar, Ubihere’s Ubitrax solution addresses the common need of real-time, low-cost tracking.
